Overview

The 2nd Annual Infrastructure Project Financing will provide an one-stop-platform to discover and discuss the latest trends in infrastructure financing, strategies and efficient mechanisms of financing infrastructure projects in today’s competitive environment.

One of the biggest economic challenges facing governments and developers in Asia and around the world is how to meet the growing demand for infrastructure development. The financing and implementation of major infrastructure projects in emerging markets is a crucial driver for sustainable economic growth. Yet many key initiatives remain stalled due to a lack of funds, with the availability of credit constrained by tough regulatory reforms, interest rate uncertainty, and persistent concerns over risk and viability.

Rapid urbanisation and development in Asia has given rise to the need for US$8 trillion worth of infrastructure investments between 2010 and 2021, whereby such huge demand for investment in infrastructure development cannot be addressed by either the public or the private sector on its own. Closing the Infrastructure financing gap will not only involve raising additional funds but also improve the efficiency and productivity of the current financing mechanisms as well as thereby accelerate infrastructure development and enhance socio-economic growth.
