Overview

Asia Pacific remains as one of the dynamic hot spots of LNG trade. Global demand for LNG is forecasted to triple by 2030 to meet the burgeoning demand for a clean energy source. LNG is the answer to the new energy world. LNG is a thriving industry with worldwide demand growing. With Australia having enormous conventional and unconventional gas resources, it opens up avenues to a whole lot of new business opportunities and trade. If these unconventional resources can be developed economically, this will transform Australia into one of the world’s largest gas markets. Globally, more than 50% of projects that are currently planned are located in Australia. As established markets like Japan and Korea along with India and China are emerging as major LNG players, dynamic changes such as new projects and revolutionary developments in LNG technology and project development are widening the horizons of the LNG market.

Whilst LNG doesn’t represent the same challenges it did 20 years ago with regards to the immense costs involved in getting LNG, the intensity of complications involved, especially with LNG operations are still extensive. The industry needs to constantly keep pace with the changing dynamics, i.e. strategic and technological developments, as well as, regularly benchmark and find partnerships to maximise the potential of LNG.
It is crucial to address the latest & innovative trends and techniques that are achievable today in the present economic and regulatory environment. Also delving into the aspects pertaining to technology and transportation will be good. With the increasing demand and profitability of LNG, there has been a marked increase in the number of LNG tankers and facilities. More and more players have invested in liquefaction and regasification plants, receiving terminals and LNG vessels. Global gas demand is seen rising by more than 50% over the next 25 years, as gas outstrips coal to come close to equalling oil in the energy mix. Meeting that demand would require an increase in production, which can be handily met by a mixture of conventional gas and shale gas, as well as some other unconventional forms of the fuel such as coal-bed methane.

The Gas market in Asia Pacific is definitely hot with a diverse group of players from different continents of the world. Our event will be a one stop shop for global sellers to meet Asian buyers together with international infrastructure developers, shippers and investors who are keen to tap into this growing market. Tackling strategic, commercial and technical issues to bring the industry forward will be at the forefront.
