Asia Pacific remains as one of the dynamic hot spot of LNG trade. Global demand for LNG is forecasted to triple by 2030 to meet the burgeoning demand for a clean energy source. LNG is the answer to the new energy world. LNG is a thriving industry with worldwide demand growing. Asia Pacific remains the largest market with two thirds of global LNG trade.

With Australia having enormous conventional and unconventional gas resources in the form of coal seam gas (CSG), it opens up avenues to a whole lot of new business opportunities and trade. If these unconventional resources can be developed economically, this will transform Australia into one of the world's largest gas markets. Globally, more than 50% of projects that are currently planned are located in Australia.

As established markets like Japan and Korea along with India and China are emerging as major LNG players, dynamic changes like new emerging markets, new projects and revolutionary developments in LNG technology and project development are widening the horizons of LNG market.

This conference aims to provide a valuable platform to address key issues in the LNG industry through well designed and well researched streams providing insights into world LNG markets, projects, technology, trading and pricing. Join and be a part of this highly successful series and seize this opportunity to network and discourse with industry practitioners across the whole value chain.

This event is proudly supported by the Department of Mines and Petroleum and the City of Perth.

Follow your own agenda with a choice of 3 streams over 2 days:

DAY 1

Stream 1      LNG Markets and Projects
The Asia-Pacific region has a robust outlook towards economic growth in comparison to other regions. Demand for LNG in the Asia Pacific region is expected to grow, with the region remaining as the heart of the LNG business and Asian is seen to become the next stop shop for global LNG players. This stream will be a one-stop shop for global sellers to meet Asian buyers, together with international infrastructure developers, shippers and investors who are keen to tap into this growing market, to learn, share and understand the global LNG market and project updates and bring the industry forward.

Stream 2      LNG Contracts, Trading and Pricing
LNG pricing and contract structures are undergoing major changes. The traditional buyers are becoming extremely cautious with the long-term commitments, whilst ensuring the security of supply and portfolio diversification. Therefore, traditional approaches are being replaced by dynamic and greater flexibility supply arrangements. This Stream focuses on the dynamics of the global LNG market, pricing, the outlook for LNG as a competitive source of supply and the pricing basis of individual LNG facilities in different regions.

Stream 3      Technology Advancements
Having met the developmental and financial challenges in getting the LNG plant built, the next step would be determining the operations efficiency and process reliability that is crucial for LNG producers to achieve greater economies of scale. Focusing on process control, this stream will highlight the issues on gas liquefaction, gasification, insulation, vapourisation systems, storage, loading & unloading facilities to optimise the LNG process chain.

Day 2

Stream 1      Floating LNG
Considering that liquefaction & gasification technology is mature, future technological advancements in LNG manufacturing would most likely be focused on increasing the single-unit capacity of the major equipments to reduce the number of such units to gain economies of scale. Commercialising FPRU & FSRU will probably be a new frontier for the LNG industry. Recently the industry has developed a renewed interest and breakthrough technologies that help reduce the costs of FLNG plants. This stream will enable participants to gain innovative ideas, explore the costs & benefits of FLNG to overcome technical and financial barriers.

Stream 2      Risk Management and Project Financing
The vagaries of the market create uncertainty for both LNG producers and buyers and therefore increased risk. In conjunction with the creditworthiness of the buyers, this enables LNG promoters of LNG infrastructure to secure the necessary financing for the huge front-end investments. As a result, steps by taken by the industry players to improve the cost structure of LNG facilities is of the utmost importance to bring LNG projects to fruition. This stream will present international case studies and highlight the strategies to manage & mitigate the evolving risk profiles and to enhance the financial capacity as a industry player.

Stream 3     Process Control
LNG plants, often very expensive in the past, will in the future need to cost less to build and operate and yet maintain high productivity, safety and reliability standards, both during the construction and operational phases. Technical advancements, both in the process and in equipment scaling, manufacturing, and metallurgy, will provide much of the impetus for improved economics. Join this stream to benchmark your LNG plants against the best in global designs & innovative technological advanced facilities.

Staying on top of the rapid developments in the unconventional gas arena, the 6th Annual LNG World Conference is also featuring an exclusive Unconventional Gas Day on 7th Sept 2011 to examine the challenges & solutions, financing structures as well as presenting case studies on the latest project developments and technological advancements to make unconventional gas development feasible.
